John Jo Eastwood makes the move from media to marketing giant
John Jo Eastwood, the ex-Huffington Post CEO, has been appointed as Managing Director for Asia-Pacific (APAC). The appointment comes following current Managing Director Anthony Capano’s move to London, where he now leads the European operations.
With an extensive career spanning leadership roles at Fairfax, News Limited and eBay, Eastwood brings 20 years of senior leadership experience to assist in further strengthening the brand position.
“JJ’s passion for the digital landscape and ecommerce, sees him bring valuable expertise in digital product innovation, programmatic advertising, big data and multimedia storytelling. He has the capability to draw on these skills to drive growth and performance for his clients, and provide guidance and leadership to our teams throughout the region”, said Anthony Capano, MD Rakuten Marketing Europe.
Following the ongoing success throughout Asia-Pacific over recent years, Eastwood will be able to help facilitate new opportunities for clients and customers. Through his considerable experience, Eastwood will bring forward innovative thinking and a new take on future planning to help expand the Asia-Pacific network.
“Rakuten Marketing is uniquely positioned between two of the fastest growing industries in Asia-Pacific, ecommerce and performance marketing, so it is an incredibly exciting time to be joining the business”, said Eastwood. “I am looking forward to helping build on the great work that Anthony and the APAC team has already done, and rolling out new product offerings that will further solidify Rakuten Marketing as an industry leader.”
As Eastwood joins the APAC team, we are looking forward to seeing our relationship between Europe and APAC continue to grow, strengthening our ability to provide global integrated solutions spanning across affiliate, display, and search to our customers.
